History of Gibson Sonex Guitars:
- Sonex Guitars were produced in the U.S.A. for Five (5) Years, from 1980 through 1984
- They were produced after the Gibson Maurader and S-1 models made from 1975 thru 1980
- This was Gibson's Solution to Fender's Lighter and More Moderately Priced Models at the time
