I’ve decided it’s time to let go of my 2015 F800GS. I think this is one of the best all-around motorbikes of the last 25 years. Powered by an Austrian Rotax engine, not the Chinese-made Loncin engine, only time will tell if they’re as reliable and robust as the Rotax but I doubt it.
This is my second of these, purchased Fall ’22. I looked for months until I found this one in red with 5400 miles on it. I haven’t been able to ride much the last year and that won’t change soon, so best it goes to someone who will make use of its capabilities. It runs and rides fantastic. Aside from a couple of scratches on the swingarm no cosmetic flaws.
I think the original owner tuned up the front shocks, they don’t dive on braking like stock F800GSs I’ve ridden. The rear tire's around 50%, the front tire 90%, both are Dunlop Trailmax Mission.
Upgrades from stock:
-) Leo Vince muffler
-) AF-XiED fuel management dongle
Stock fueling on most motorcycles is very lean, the AF-XiED dongle just slightly richens the mixture, giving more power and a smoother throttle. The Leo Vince weights half the stock muffler, is less constricted and sounds better.
-) SW-Motech crash bars.
-) Pivot pegs.
-) Touratech windscreen.
-) Touratech headlight protector.
-) Z-technic mirror extenders.
-) SRC kickstand foot enlarger.
-) Vario top case, with back-pad, keyed to the ignition.
The last photos show more:
-) Sargent enduro-style seat. The best of several I've tried for allowing quick movement while providing grip.
-) Full Madstad tinted 18” and clear 20” windshield system including the winglets, the best screen for a tall rider of the several I’ve tried. The Touratech screen is good for riders under around 6’ and under.
-) A set of Kalamata green plastics.
Not shown but included, the stock muffler and footpegs, the OEM top and bottom rack bars for the side Vario cases. Also the billet gas cap seen in the last few photos.
I had the set of Kalamata plastics when I purchased this bike in late 2022, switched them out and stored the red set away until I prepared the bike to sell. So still only about 5400 miles on the red plastics, they look pretty much like new.
When I took all the photos I was planning to keep the Sargent seat, Madstad winshield set, and Kalamata plastics. Seats and screens are very rider-specific, and not everyone may like the Kalamata color as much as I do, so I thought I'd sell them separately. I am offering all of it for my asking price of $8800. I have close to $11k invested.
