This classic and storied cutter rigged sailboat is a true original. Port Townsend built, the Skookum Boat Company would develop heavy full keel hulls then sell them to boat designers, so no two are alike. This particular model is an Art Monk, Jr. design center cockpit with a very high freeboard for coastal travel. Rigged with a mainsail, fwd genoa and storm kite. Also includes a spinnaker sail. Rudder steering gives it a unique gondula feel that frees up the center cockpit for more entertaining, but a wheel in the cockpit could be installed. Beautiful interior design with little Art Monk eastereggs, like the asymmetric drawers make it for homey living quarters, including its fullsize aftcabin sleeping quarters. The layout provides for a full standing engine compartment with total access to each side of its original Volvo MD-3 29hp. The engine is solidly reliable, though does tend to (white) smoke a bit on start up, esp. cold days. Still starts up right away. The vessel's canvas is at end of life and its batteries are expired (aux batteries currently onboard). Diesel stove for cabin heat, new smart battery charger, shorepower refrigeration among some of its amenities.
