The old flyball elevator governor antique is a unique piece with a classic antique style. This is a vintage elevator component, such as a governor or control mechanism, designed by Otis Elevators.
This is heavy cast iron and steel. Weighs approx 175 lbs. One of the photos shows it on a scale.
The story is that this was a working component in what was said to be the very last, operator controlled, elevator on the West Coast, USA. The 5 story building, built in 1918, was renovated about 30 years ago and included a new elevator & mechanism. So this piece is at least 108 years old.
Original paint and slight rust & dust. Turns and releases and resets just as it did in service. It was actually seen running in service by the guy that had it before me.
My plan was to use it as a cool dumb-waiter pulley component but that house never got built. Shipping and freight is not included. Budget 250 lbs shipping weight. Located near Seattle and I have no forklift, but two strong people can lift it. Prefer pickup in person.
Please, no looky-loos or whack-os or lowball offers. I will remove this ad when it is no longer available.
