Authentic R.E. Dietz Monarch Railroad Lantern from the 1930 - 1940s or so I've been told. Originally designed to operate on Coal Oil or Kerosene. The company started making these types of lanterns in the 1840s so it could be much older than I suspect. My father worked for the railroad before, and during WWII and supposedly this was his. I inherited it from my Uncle and have no great interest in it. I've kept it all these years thinking perhaps one of my sons would want it, but they seem to share my interest.
Would make a good home decoration addition for the train/railroad enthusiast in your family. With a little adaption you could easily make it into a porch light or driveway light. With an vintage item like this imagination is the key to making it something special in your home. If you know an old railroad buff, this would be the perfect present.
Asking $100 for the lantern. If interested, please E-mail for more information or if you wish to make arrangements to pick it up please include a phone number and I'll call (NO TEXTS) to set an appointment.
