The mission of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Department of Public Safety is to protect life and property, maintain order, investigate crimes, enforce all applicable laws and ordinances, protect natural resources, enforce Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Fishing, Hunting, and Forest codes, investigate violations, arrest and issue citations on violators within the boundaries of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Reservation and within the boundaries of the Point No Point Treaty Area.
The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, originally known as the Nux Sklai Yem or The Strong People, are descendants of the Salish peoples with ancestral ties to the Kitsap Peninsula that date back at least 1,000 years. Many of the Port Gamble S’Klallam’s members—totaling over 1,400—live on the Tribe’s reservation, which is located on the northern tip of Kitsap County in Washington state, near the neighboring towns of Kingston, Poulsbo, Indianola, Hansville, Port Gamble, and Bainbridge Island.

Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing all Amazon related purchasing activities for the Tribal Government, from initial requisition through final reconciliation and payment.
This role ensures full compliance with Tribal procurement policies, internal controls, grant/federal funding requirements, and audit standards.
The Specialist oversees purchase orders, order placement, tracking, receiving, invoice matching, and returns, serving as the primary point of contact for all Amazon Business procurement activities.
This position directly supports Tribal operations and community services by ensuring accurate, efficient, and transparent procurement workflows.
This is a full time non exempt position that reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.
Education and Requirements:
-High school diploma or GED; Associate degree required.
-3 to 5 years of procurement, purchasing, or accounts payable experience.
-Experience with accounting or ERP systems (Dynamics GP, Tyler, etc.).
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
-Ability to manage deadlines, maintain accuracy, and follow internal controls.
-Strong communication and customer service skills.
