Custom Cedar & Hardwood Deck Builder – Western Washington
Most deck failures start below the surface.
In the Pacific Northwest, decks fail when moisture gets trapped, fasteners corrode, and the framing wasn’t designed for constant rain.
I build decks for this climate first.
I’m a second-generation carpenter with 20+ years of experience in outdoor construction in the Pacific Northwest.
My work focuses on durable outdoor structures built to perform in wet conditions.
Deck Construction Approach:
Framing is typically full-dimension yellow cedar for longevity and stability.
I use stainless structural fasteners to avoid corrosion over time.
Railings are screwed, not finish-nailed, so they stay tight and serviceable for years.
The goal is a deck that feels solid, quiet underfoot, and built to last.
Shop Pre-Build Process:
Many components are built in the shop before installation.
This typically means:
• less disruption at your home
• shorter on-site build time
• tighter assemblies
• less exposure to weather during construction
On-site time is focused on structural placement and finish work, not raw fabrication.
Integrated Features:
• built-in benches and seating
• planter boxes
• privacy screens and shade structures
• structural prep for hot/cold soaking tubs
• outdoor kitchens
• hardwood trim details and custom accents
I take on pergolas, sauna structures, and timber builds when the project is a good fit.
Projects range from simple cedar decks to multi-level hardwood builds with integrated outdoor features.
What to Expect:
• clear proposals
• defined project scope
• communication during the build
I’m usually not the lowest bid. My focus is on long-term durability and well-built outdoor structures.
When reaching pease include:
• type of project
• approximate size/ dimensions
• preferred materials (cedar, hardwood, composite)
• project location
• general timeline
I’m currently booking a limited number of projects for Spring / Summer 2026.
