The RAT distortion pedal, first introduced in the late 1970s and still popular today, is a classic effect known for its versatile crunch and fuzz-like distortion. This listing features a rare large-case version produced after 1981, where the "TONE" control was replaced by a "FILTER" control. Based on dating details, this unit is from 1982. The casing shows some rust and signs of use, adding vintage character. It uses the original LM308N op-amp by National Semiconductor and a 2N5458 FET buffer from the same manufacturer. Compared to the small box version, this large case offers a smoother drive with a distinctive boxy feel. No accessories included.
