Here's a genuine Epiphone/Gibson Flying Vee guitar down-sized 2/3 scale. Known as the "Wee-Vee", it was made primarily as a travel guitar, it's also a big hit as a beginner or child sized instrument. It's not a toy, however and is equipped with the electronics of it's full size counterpart. The pick-ups are the same units used in the Les Paul studio guitar that sells for nearly $900 and the sound is quite remarkable. Here, shown alongside a full sized Les Paul standard guitar to show scale, this Flying Vee sounds identical until you crank it up to 10. The Les Paul Standard is only shown for size comparison and is not included, but is also up for sale. Then it will wail like the original Epiphone / Gibson Flying Vee made in the 60's and 70's! A great way to take your music on the road for practice or even a gig. The included 15 watt Randy Jackson amplifier is a perfect match. It has a built in 3 channel EQ, a very capable Gain control with clean and overdrive selections, plus the awesome reverb control with phase, delay and chorus selections. These are options usually only installed in much higher cost amplifiers. With a very convenient input jack for a disc player/recorder to jam with and it has a headphone jack too. Playing "silently" will help you rehearse those riffs without anyone else having to yell "turn that down!" The effects are very useful too; again, not a toy at all. It's a compact recording studio. In fact the reverb on this amp sounds just like those old tube amps did in the 50's! You can easily emulate the Buddy Holly slap echo or even those kitchy surf guitar science fiction sound tracks. The spring reverb circuit is so realistic, including that genuine "pop" when you first turn it on. That's a sure sign that the original type capacitors were used to make that classic small music hall slap echo that sounds so nostalgic. Whether you play country, classic, soft or hard rock, it handles the whole mix with ease. I actually prefer it to the same size Marshall and Fender units that sound muted and monotone when played side by side. This pair make a fantastic travel ensemble or for a gift to a starting musician. This guitar has a perfectly merged bolt/set neck which makes for incredible tone and sustain. The best part is that these brand names, with their reputation for quality will always hold their value & even increase over time. The Epiphone brand has increased their quality level so much that the brands of Gibson and Epiphone are now extremely comparable. Just look at the Flying Vee prices of the guitars made even 20 years ago. Everybody wants a Flying Vee!
The images show the exact dimensions and pristine condition of both units. Not a mark or scratch and in as new condition, making it perfect for a no-excuses gift for a special person. It has been recently re-strung with Ernie Ball Super slinky strings and is ready to go. I have other amplifiers available, or this guitar can be obtained without the Jackson amplifier if you don't need it.
Don't really want to let it go, but I don't play it enough to really justify it, and I need the $$. Can meet you for a quick face to face transaction within 15 miles or so of downtown Bellevue. Bill of sale provided.
