For sale is a beautiful pair of Danish teak lounge chairs by Rastad & Relling, manufactured by Gustav Bahus & Eft - circa 1950s. Widely known as "bambi" chairs, these Norwegian lovelies are made from solid teak and feature brand-new, professionally-woven flat "aged" cane seats. These beauties would slide seamlessly into many home décor styles with their simple yet elegant Scandinavian design...so classic and timeless.
OVERVIEW: In my opinion, the highlight of these chairs is the design of those stunning teak frames, and how the arms wraparound the back in one continuous form…like the chair is hugging you while sitting in it. Lounge chairs of this era normally have frames with some sort of exposed supportive backing element but with these the structural component is built into the curvaceous backrest – leaving a sleek, exposed back that seems to be smiling even. 😀
SEATS: These lovelies have all been just professionally-rewoven with a flat Danish 5mm binder cane that is not only classic but very sturdy too...and it has been stained/distressed to give the appearance of age and patina despite being brand-new. If you're looking to exude a comfortable and fantastic MCM/retro yet classic vibe in your space for the next 30+ years, these are the lounge chairs for you.
OVERALL CONDITION: Recently reconditioned using traditional Danish methods to the solid teak frames, keen attention was paid to every detail of restoration so these two are now in absolutely gorgeous condition, certain to be the collective focal point of your space. In short, these are in stunning condition and present beautifully overall.
DIMENSIONS: 24" wide x 28" high x 18" deep (each dimension taken at the widest point). These chairs are quite sturdy too (e.g. I'm 6'3" and these fit me just fine). Seat height from floor is 17".
