After School Teaching Assistant/ Van Driver

compensation: $13.00- $20.00 DOE

Timberlake After School is an after school program serving elementary age children in the Redmond/Sammamish area. Our program is academically focused with a play-based yet structured atmosphere.
We are looking for a quality Passenger Van Drivers and Teaching Assistant who are excited to be a part of a growing program and eager to work with a team of teachers to constantly improve ourselves as teachers and our program as a whole.

Job Description:
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2:30-6:30 Wed is 1:15-6:30
• 15-23 hours per week, depending on your van route
• Must be available on early dismissal days to pick up early
• At least 25 years of age for insurance purposes
• Be able to keep all certifications current; a background check, TB test, and CPR, first aid, and blood-borne pathogens training.
• Clean driving record
• Establishing and enforcing rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order - using Love & Logic
• Modeling kind, respectful behavior to both adults and children at all times
• Enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order
• Treat children, parents, and staff with respect and dignity
• Communicate daily with Director regarding student/parent/staff concerns

Job Requirements:
• CPR and First AID certified
• A cleared and current TB test
• Blood borne pathogens certified
• Child Abuse trained
• Have 30 hours STARS training or willing to acquire the training
• A good driving record
• Van driving training (annually)
• Maintain positive and professional attitude
• Knowledge of child development as evidenced by professional reference, education experience, and/or on-the-job experience
• General understanding of school legal responsibilities and liabilities
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings
• Dresses and conducts oneself in a professional, respectful manner: adhering to the staff dress code
• Attentive to health, sanitation, safety and nutrition at all times
• Teaches and models proper eating habits and personal hygiene
• Completes daily homework checks
• Make sure classroom is cleaned up and materials are put away daily
• Modeling kind, respectful behavior to both adults and children at all times  Manage behavior issues inside
the classroom
• Enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order
• Treat children, parents, and staff with respect and dignity
• At least 25 years of age (for insurance purposes)
