Welcome to the first ever AppBank Cash Squad Program! We are extremely excited to spread the word about this amazing service and want to make the best of your experience as a team member. First, let’s get to the basics.

What is AppBank?
We are a well-funded, profitable startup seeking college students to write content for our extensive network of social entertainment applications. We have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, PC World, and more as a revolutionary way to spend time on Facebook while making money at the same time! Our patent-pending system is the first platform that allows anyone to make money for creating applications on Facebook. Anyone can do it, there's no need to understand computer code, no website maintenance, and best of all it's free! All you have to do is create quality applications, sit back, relax, and watch the money roll in! Many of our application creators make hundreds to a thousand dollars per month working only 5-20 hours per week - the more engaging and popular your application, the more you will earn through our program. You set your hours and you determine how much you make!

What is your role as part of the AppBank Cash Squad ?
You will be one of 20 hand-selected students to be a part of our incentive-based program. Your mission is to spread the word about App Bank by recruiting and signing up as many new application creators as possible.
You will be asked to attend monthly meetings, participate in promotional activities, create two new applications per month, and most importantly, tell the world how wonderful AppBank is!

So what’s in it for you?
First of all, money! In addition, invites to special AppBank parties and events, exclusive seasonal contests, free pizza or snacks at our monthly meetings, and the opportunity to gain great experience with a new Seattle startup. As part of our incentive program you will make money for recruiting new developers. The more people you recruit, the more money you will make. Also, like all creators, you will receive a share of ad revenue for your own quizzes through AppBank. Our most successful creators make hundreds to thousands of dollars each month! We are looking for driven people who will make the most of this opportunity.

Redfin Writer (Seattle)

Redfin is looking for a writer who can cut through all the baloney in online real estate to say something lively and real about our company, our industry and the whole home-buying process.
More than anyone else at Redfin you'll be the maker of our brand, distilling the core elements of who we are into one consistent, authentic voice.
And that's only half the job. We not only need someone who can describe the way Redfin already is, we also want someone who can have a hand in the continual re-writing of what we become, working on a team that shapes the changes we make to our site and our service.

About you:

Live to write: like Proust in his cork-lined study.
Fun: storyteller, mesmerist, exhilarator. Your words will be our brand.
Perfectionist: "who" or "whom," "which" or "that"? You sweat the details.
Deep Space 9: you're plugged in to Twitter, Facebook, blogs.
Big-thinker: you see the shape of an idea in a red wheelbarrow and a bunch of chickens.
Truth-teller: you'd never write something untrue just to avoid denting a word or phrase.

About the job:

Writing: every word that goes on our website goes through you – and then out to two million people. You'll also handle monthly newsletters, fun & thought-provoking blog posts, just-the-facts-ma'am press releases.
Research: you dig into a bunch of numbers to understand what's really going on. You interview people in the field, chase down people in the office. Asking questions, sorting out contradictions, checking facts. Columbo. Woodward. Bernstein.
Program management: you'll often be describing something before it exists, in more precise terms than anyone else at Redfin has hitherto attempted. This usually means you'll be part of the team defining our site and our service as we go.
Story-telling: you cook up ideas that we can pitch to the press or develop for our own blog. One of the ways that Redfin asserts its relevance is by having something to say that nobody's ever heard before.
Strategy: you'll work with a startup team of executives on how we build our brand, serve our customers and drive revenue.

Other requirements:

Strong academic record.
Liberal arts degree: we want someone who not only writes clearly and precisely, but has some intellectual interests, and panache too.
Entrepreneurial energy, creativity: in your interview, we'll ask you for three or four ideas on how our website could be better. Come prepared!
How to apply: send a resume, writing sample and brief cover letter to marketing.jobs@redfin.com. Use the word "Writer" in the subject line of the e-mail.

RENAME OUR VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION. REWARD OFFERED!

We are starting a new nonprofit organization which will send international volunteers overseas (primarily Americans and Europeans) to volunteer in charitable causes in developing countries. Our first project volunteers (mostly native English speakers) will be travelling to a relatively undeveloped city in China and teaching homeless children to speak English. However, our projects are not limited to China and are not limited to teaching. We plan on offering a variety of projects in the future. We already have a website available (www.HorizonsAbroad.org) however WE DO NOT LIKE THE CURRENT NAME and plan to change it.

We need a creative new name for our non-profit organization. We also need a URL which matches the name exactly.

Specifically, we need a creative, memorable name that is both witty and clearly conveys the purpose of our organization. While I want to be as open-ended and allow you to be as creative as possible, I would lay down these few guidelines for naming:

-	The URL you come up with has to be available with both a “.com” and a “.org”. We don’t want names which are for sale. Please only send us name ideas which have the .com and the .org available. Also, there should be no dashes, hyphens, or underscores in the proposed URL.
-	The URL should be ideally under 10 letters long but I could accept as many as 18 (though 15 is really unlikely to win). The shorter, the wittier, the better!
-	The name/URL should convey both the volunteering/charitable focus and international/global focus of our organization.
-	We want something which is dynamic, exciting, and witty …
-	We will be hosting these programs in a number of countries so we do not want to limit the name of our program to any particular geography. We need a name that not only could be applied to any country, language, or geography but also to any kind of volunteer project.

For a great website which provides some tips on naming, check out the following link: http://www.igorinternational.com/process/name-development-product-company.php

As a hint, this page lists four categories of names: Functional/Descriptive, Invented, Experiential, and Evocative. We really want names which are Experiential… though Evocative, Functional, or Invented may work as well. The problem with Functional/Descriptive names is that they tend to be too bland. The problem with Invented names is that they tend to be too hard to understand. And the problem with Evocative names is that they tend to be too controversial. So experiential is our preference.

If you think of a name which we choose for our organization, we will pay you $200. Beyond the $200 payment, you will be rewarded by knowing that you have helped out a charitable organization so you will be working for a good cause. If you enjoy this kind of work, please give it a try. Send us an email with names and I will add it to a list. We will select a name in a few weeks and will let you know if you are the winner!

Thanks,
Carl, Jonathan, and Susan
