They are a photo shop pretending to be artist reps charging outragous prices for headshots - nothing more and nothing less.

The person who calls you won't even know what job you applied to (duh!)

Please folks - remember - a photographer takes pictures - and charges for that service.

An agent pitches your talent to buyers - and never ever charges you any sort of up front fee - not for a required photograph, or anything - nothing - no charge - get it?

The agent gets paid from a portion of the fee you receive from your work - never ever up front.

Emerald City preys on people's insecurities and desire to make it in a very competitive business.

The Port Orchard Library offers live instrumental music during Port Orchard's Chimes & Lights Festival. We're seeking additional musicians this year to volunteer their time and talent for the event. The music is background rather than performance, but there are patrons who plan for it - they come in, pull up a chair, and enjoy the "show" (in the past, we've featured Celtic, Contemporary, and Bluegrass musicians, as well as a django/swing quartet.) Musicians sign on for 30-minute segments primarily between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. (the hours of the Festival), but we're happy to offer time earlier than in the day if that's what works for you. This year, Chimes & Lights will be held on Saturday, December 5. If you play an acoustic instrument and have a set or two of holiday or similar tunes, we'd like to hear from you! Students: this is a great opportunity for intermediate and advanced music students; it may also count as community service for your portfolio.

Let me begin by saying that this is not a recreational band rehearsing in a garage or basement. Since I own Cougar Mountain Studios (www.cougarmountainstudios.com), we literally have our own pro level recording facility in which to rehearse and record. I�m not nearly as interested in who you�ve played with or what studio you�ve recorded in as I am in why you�d like to be part of a professional jazz fusion ensemble.

A few years ago, I started a jazz fusion studio recording project, wrote some very good material, found a group of amazing musicians and created SYMBIOSIS. After recording our first CD, we began to perform in the Pacific Northwest and were very well received. However as is often the case, the members of the group went on to do other things in their professional lives and the group broke up.

We are now seeking creative, intelligent, driven musicians to help create the newest version of what was one of the very best jazz fusion ensembles around. The material is all original, has the flavor of Chick Corea, Spyro Gyra, Yellow Jackets and is written for KB, guitar, bass, sax and drums. This is not cocktail jazz or background music and believe me when I say that you�d never be bored with the material!

I'm a student shooting a comedy short this Friday Nov 13th and the two last things I need is a female extra who has one line, and a dog so I thought I'd knock them out at the same time. If you don't mind being an extra and don't mind your dog having a bigger part than you in the project, this part is for you. During the shoot I'd need you to train your dog a little to make sure it doesn't get out of control and that it barks when it needs to. I'm looking for a dog that doesn't bite strangers and preferably a small dog. The dog in the script is female so if your dog is male, that's ok as long as it can pass as a female dog. The script is only 2 pages long and will take 1-2 hours to shoot. At the end of this, you will get a copy of the finished piece. Actors are sought who can play women�s roles ranging in age from 9 to 50 and men�s roles ranging in age from 9 to 50. Some actors will read multiple roles. You don�t have to be these ages to read the roles. The time commitment is minimal as two to three rehearsals are planned, and there will three readings.

Synopsis: Humorist Jean Shepherd's very funny memoir of growing up in the midwest in the 1940s. The sotry follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case to his mother, his teacher and even the Santa Claus at Goldblatt's Department Store. The consistent response: "You'll shoot your eye out." All of the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family's temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie's father winning a lamp shaped like a woman's leg in a net stocking; Ralphie's fantasy scenarios and more.

Public reading at Burien Little Theatre: Saturdays Nov. 28 and Dec. 12 at 2 p.m., which are the first and third Saturdays of Burien Little Theatre's holiday production of "Christmas with the Crawfords." Nursing home reading: Saturday, Dec. 5.

Feature Film Audition--TONIGHT, DROP IN (Downtown)

The Rancor Productions, LLC is producing their first feature film.

UPDATE: Actors paid in points. DROP IN TONIGHT, Theatre Puget Sound, Studio H, Seattle Center House, Studio H.

It is a 90-minute comedy. We need several actors to play fictional interviewees. You should have a strong theatrical comedic instinct, but also have a the ability to tone it down to the level of cinema verite naturalism as needed. The characters you will be playing are bizarre, but the dialogue will not be scripted.

Some of the subject matter discussed in the interviews will be mature--but nothing worse than what you'd hear at a comedy club.

It should be fun, and you�ll get credited with a speaking role in a feature film, and a copy. The audition will take perhaps ten minutes and the filming will take place the week after the audition and will be less than an hour for each person. We are using an HVX 200 camera. Hey! We want to record a singer-songwriter project in ANY KIND OF studio, the only important thing is that we need almost everything!
You provide 1 electric and 1 acoustic guitar, maybe a bass too (not the best kind, just something whats in tune, and can easily played) and some studio microphone for vocals and the acoustic, and some line-in recording system for the electric guitar (toneport, pod...) and some synth. We dont need pricey equipment, just a friendly, nice enviroment. It can be in your basement, in your room, we don`t really care, as long as you can record the stuff, provide the gear, and make the mixing. First let`s record 1 song in a day, do some mixing = probably 6 hours work for 60$, and then we will see the rest. If you have a drumkit, thats even better, because we are thinking in drum recording too. We are kinda professionals, the problem is that we`re not from here (berlin, europe), so we don`t have any instruments with us.

"The Curse of Duncan Carbunkle", a low-budget independent feature film scheduled to shoot in January and February is currently looking for actors.

Synopsis:
His whole life, Duncan Carbunkle believed that he was cursed. Now he's dead. Delores - a young woman who was romantically involved with both Duncan and his best friend Alan - reads aloud a manuscript written by Alan, which was "to be opened in he event of Duncan's death". Alan however, is mysteriously absent. Through the manuscript we learn the story of Duncan and Alans friendship, Duncan's belief in his curse, and the final cause of Duncan's death. Was Duncan really cursed and destined to die or was it his belief in it that led to his decline?

We are currently casting for the following roles:

Duncan: Late teens, early 20's. Standard hieght and build, dark hair. Duncan is of standard intellegence but sometimes has trouble expressing himself. He lacks connection to the phsyical world and others, very much functioning internally and using his beliefs to explain his shoddy luck through life. His way of expressing himself comes through playing music (specifically the bass guitar - any music experience is a plus).

Alan: Late teens, early 20's. Tall, decently build, light hair. Alan is charismatic and intellegent - often using large words that Duncan struggles to understand. He is very much in touch with the phsyical world around him and is quite socially adept. He very much cares for his best friend and believes that Duncan is better off without his outlandish idea of the curse - he constantly tries to convince Duncan that it is nothing more than a fiction.

Delores: Early 20's. Standard hieght and build, attractive. Delores is both intellegent and extremely artistic. These things are what attract her to Duncan and later, Alan. She is very much aware of her surroundings, but is more tolerant of Duncan's beliefs.

Grandfather: Elderly. Duncan's grandfather - he is the one who passes on his knowledge and beliefs about the curse to Duncan.

A local indie-pop band is having a music video shot on Saturday, November 14th in Capitol Hill at a house party. We need 1 lead actress and 3-5 supporting actresses for the video. An additional day (TBD) may be needed of these roles for pick-up shots.

-Will be shot at an actual house party where there will be alcohol served, must be in your 20s (21+)
-No dialogue
-No nudity
-Must be available the entire evening, potentially into very late hours of the night (to get shots of the party in full-swing)

My name is Drew Pappas and I have a band here on the Key Peninsula, in the area indicated. We recently lost a guitar player due to mutual agreement and are seeking a replacement. We have some demo recordings and have one show under our belt, and looking to plan some more occasional shows. Ideally we are looking to eventually book around one or two a month, with weekly practices.
Our style is Indie/Punk/Pop, flavored with electronic, but we are looking for something fresh. Right now we are called "Hearts Asunder" but that is likely to change as we move in this new direction.

We are seeking a skilled guitar player who has influences such as Angels and Airwaves, Delirious?, the Killers, Relient K, Hillsong United, the Postal Service, Shiny Toy Guns, Pheonix, Jack's Mannequin, U2, Owl City, and Third Eye Blind. Needs to be flexible and moldable, and able to gel with a band, and follow leadership. Currently there are 3 of us. We like to have fun, rock out, and laugh. We try to keep practices as tight as possible, and if everyone cooperates, we have alot of fun together. Anyone who joins this band will have a blast. I am the lead singer and I also am an experienced guitar player, but we need someone else to hold the bulk of the guitar work. If you can play any other instruments its a major bonus. I also play synth and basic keys. We have a solid bass player and an intermediate drummer. All members are commited. I am also an Audio Engineer so it will be easy for us to record quality demos.
