POSITION MISSION
“Community Impact” is the phrase used by United Ways across America to describe current work they are doing to address some of the most important human service issues in their communities. Usually, these issues are selected as a result of significant study and community input. Such is the case with United Way of Pierce County.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for developing and managing large and small impact projects and initiatives, primarily, but not limited to the field of Health Care Access including Prevention and Education. Responsible for working with Impact staff and staff from other UW departments to achieve impact goals. Responsible for researching and implementing best and or promising practices regarding Impact. Liaison between Impact and Public Policy work. Ensure that financial and non-financial resources are secured and leveraged in order to achieve Impact goals which may include grant writing. Provide staff support for Board and other committees as appropriate.
Currently, the Board of Directors has approved a long-term commitment to positive outcomes in these three Impact areas: Health, Education and Income.

Reports directly to the Vice President of Community Impact, with general strategic direction and more specific support as needed/requested.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BA degree preferred and one year of experience working with community initiatives in the area of education, health or financial stability. Other community organizing work may be considered. Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation.
