Job Overview:
Data is a key business asset for Concur. As Concur’s Business Intelligence Architect you will align the data architecture strategy and roadmap with Concur’s business requirements and goals. You will lead the effort to define, develop, and implement data strategy, architecture, data standards, and associated policies. Your primary focus will include business intelligence, data warehousing, master data management, metadata management, and analytic technologies to support strategic decision support.
Responsibilities:
- Expand the company’s use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives
- Translate corporate business requirements into long-term data architecture solutions
- Ensure data assets of the organization are well managed and supported by information architecture that supports Concur’s business needs
- Design, develop, and implement data models for enterprise level applications and systems
- Develop and maintain a formal description of corporate data and data structures including data definitions, models, and data flow diagrams
- Serve as the primary advocate of data management methodologies, data integrity best practices, and technology components of data governance processes
- Assist in design and development of reporting capabilities, standard and adhoc reports, templates, and interfaces
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers on a wide range of technology projects
- Metadata structures and master data management (MDM)
- Creation of a metadata registry
- Conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
- Schema development
- Relational database design to support data architecture
- Data preparation and ETL
- Sourcing data and source mapping to target locations
- Data mining and data mining tools
Position Requirements:
Education, Experience & Training required:
- Bachelors/Masters degree in a technical/information management discipline
- Relevent professional IT background in combination with either or both of the following:
- A Bachelors degree or higher in Information Management.
- 5+ years in a directly related role, such as Business Intelligence Architect, Enterprise Data Architect, Enterprise Systems Deployment, or equivalent.
- A Bachelors degree or higher in Information Management.
- Business Intelligence competency and experience required.
Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of master data management, best practices, and the ability to lead implementation
- Experience in design and development of metadata structures and applications
- Experience successfully deploying data-centric applications, e.g. data warehouses, data stores, data integration projects
- Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
- Experience with reporting technologies such as Cognos/MSSAS or other BI tools preferred (Implementing, Configuring, and Administration)
- Knowledge of MDX/OLAP query language preferred
- Experience with SOA and Web Services preferred
- Experience in project planning and management
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
