We love to have fun, we go to parks, the beach (only if you are ok with that!) childrens museum, and much more. When we are at home we have tons of preschool activitys we work on includibg phonics, science/sensory activities, math, and much more.I am big on possitive reinforcement and if the kids are having problems i teach them to talk about it and i only give time outs if the child is hurting another child, but we will still talk a lot about their actions.
I also am big on organic food so you will be sure little one is eating only the BEST food!!!!I like to meet you and your child before watching him/her so that is why i am looking to start in mid august so we can get to know eachother!!

I am a Certifed Postpartum Doula, Nanny and caregiver for the elderly and disabled with excellent references who is opening my home to a small group of children. I am trained in baby sign language for pre verbal communication and also did extended nursing with my own children. A typical day in our home away from home setting will include healthy grazing snacks all day long as well as balanced meals for your little one - made with organic fruits and veggies and as little processing as possible. We get our organics delivered from Pioneer Organics!

There is limited TV time and when it is watched it will be approved movies or PBS type preschool appropriate and /or Animal Planet.

We live on a quiet dead end street with a huge front yard and a fenced back yard so there is plenty of opportunity for outside playtime. We are also setting up a small raised garden so that we can all participate in fresh grown veggies this summer.

A little about myself... I live in a child friendly apartment complex in Everett near Silverlake, I have completely babyproofed my home, and thanks to my great location I have easy access to a number of great parks, the library, and shopping centers. When I was an undergraduate I took 4 semesters of French, 3 semesters of German, and 1 semester (plus 3 years in high school)of Spanish. I am attempting to do baby sign with my son- I have the basics down. I take a great interest in culture, art, languages, and diversity and would love to pass this on to your child if you share my same interests. I also graduated cum laude with a double major- Art History and Religious Studies- from San Diego State University. As a prospective teacher I have committed myself to a life of education and if I cared for your child I would try to make every activity a learning experience- from naming objects at the grocery store to storytimes at the library. I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs. I do have a cat, but she is pretty friendly. My boyfriend is a park ranger for the county and he is also a certified EMT. He has taught me how to perform CPR and deliver basic aid.
