We are looking for a fun, energetic daycare & preschool teacher, working part time 20 hours Monday-Friday, plus on call. The duty will involve cleaning.


TITLE:

Lead Teacher, part time

MAJOR DUTIES:

- Plan and carry out daily programs in a creative and safe manner as directed by our program supervisor.
- Tasks will involve but not limited to preparing today's lesson, reading a book, teaching, guiding, playing, having fun together with children, and giving discipline when needed.
- Help cleaning duties.

NEEDED ATTRIBUTES:

As a Christian daycare, a teacher is expected to be able to teach Christian values, including prayer, teaching Bible stories and be an inspiration for children. Teacher must be able to effectively communicate, interact with children ages 1-12 and parents, and have the passion for the children to grow physically, emotionally, socially, intellectually, and spiritually. Patience, creativity, nurturing, discipline, role modeling ability, parenting skills, following orders, teamwork, fluent verbal and written English are required.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must love children!
- Minimum of one year experience of teaching or mentoring children
- At least 18 years of age
- Have high school diploma or equivalent
- Able to teach different age groups (toddlers, early preschool, pre-K, before/after school)
- Clean criminal background check
- Have completed 20 hours basic STARS training, or willing to take (at own expense) within 60 days of hire, with renewal of 10 hours training annually
- Have completed HIV/AIDS and bloodborne pathogen training, or willing to take (at own expense) within 30 days of hire
- Have current child CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to take (at own expense) within 30 days of hire
- Have current food handler's permit, or willing to take (at own expense) within 30 days of hire
- Have current Tb testing (within the past one year)
- Be able to lift up to 40 lbs child

Compensation: Starting at $10.00/hour.
