Here is an example of how long it takes for us to complete a project:
- 250 s.f floor would not take more then a day
- large shower with shower pan, floor and a Jacuzzi surround would take around 3-4 days.
- 12 bathrooms project with shower pans, floors, etc. would only take around 2-3 weeks.
Our speed does not reflect our quality. I treat each of our projects differently. I feel like each of our projects is my little baby. Some projects require extra quality, some projects require deadline fulfillment, some low cost, some speed, and yours may be completely different. Seasons are changing. Fruit Tree Pruning Season arriving.
Proper pruning help to:
remove/ reduce weight on weak crotches and limbs to reduce/ prevent breakage under fruit/ snow/ ice weight,
improve airflow and light penetration to reduce fungal problems,
establish/ maintain fruit production is easier to harvest locations,
reduce shading from watersprouts,
and improve fruit quality.
Annual or biennial maintenance pruning keeps the tree growing well, with less pruning shock. Pruning cuts are kept smaller. The trees are safer and easier to work on, with easier to handle brush for disposal. Maintaining your trees with small doses of pruning more frequently can be more cost effective than letting them go for 5 years, then needing a wanting a larger amount of pruning done at once. This can be counter-productive, as it can force the tree into vegetative growth to replace the lost photosynthetic leaves with new leaves. Fruit production can suffer as a result. Removing too much of the shading canopy suddenly can lead to sunscald/ sunburn when the bark is suddenly exposed to much more sunlight/ UV radiation.
Apple tree that was shaded by a now pruned maple, causing unbalance growth. Lots of watersprouts. Little room for airflow and sunlight penetration. Lots of limbs rubbing against one another, wearing through the protective bark. Weak, "included-bark" crotches from a lack of early pruning/ training and unfortunate natural shape.
Same tree after it first pruning. The tree will be pruned again within 2 years to further direct growth toward the bare side, balancing the tree, as well as other corrective pruning to reshape the tree, and more watersprout removal.
Before pruning an apple tree that was growing out from under Douglas-fir limbs, which have removed to give the apple tree more sunlight.
After pruning. This tree has grown toward the road and light. Starting now, and to be pruned again in two years, this tree is being trained back into a more balanced, open tree. It will be more storm resistant, produce better fruit, and provide more aethetically pleasing framing to the driveway entrance.
