PJ Pockets Casino is hiring a Security Officer. Casino experience and WSGC licensed preferred.
Extent of Job Authority: Authority to observe and report all activities, incidents, or safety hazards to uphold the integrity of the casino. Under the guidance of the Security and/or Shift Manager, may respond to emergency situations as they arise.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours. Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork is required.
Working Conditions: 95% inside with exposure to loud music, two nights a week, 5% outside with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Licenses: Able to learn and follow detailed security manual procedures and standard operating procedures. Must possess excellent judgment and discretion. Physical ability to perform specific security duties. Must be 21 years or older. Ability to deal with a diverse workforce and clientele. Must have or obtain a Washington State Gambling Commission license upon hire.
Major Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are no limited to, the following:
1. Observes, reports, and investigates incidents, procedure violations, or criminal activities as they arise.
2. Creates a safe, friendly environment for customers and employees.
3. Collects, records, and stores lost and found items.
4. Perform security patrols inside and outside facility.
5. Have good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.
6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with customers and employees.
7. Maintain a professional demeanor under stressful situations.
8. Investigates circumstances in order to write required reports.
9. Ability to understand and follow instructions as given.
10. Ability to respond to situations that may become volatile.
11. Ability to comprehend verbal and written information related to company policies, procedures, and requirements (ie: safety and security)
12. Checks patrons identification to ensure they are 21 years or older.
13. Safeguards property assets.
14. Must complete various training programs, such as CPR, first aid, report writing, defensive tactics and Liquor Control Board training upon hire.
15. Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
