Community Schools Collaboration (CSC)
Program Support Staff Position for the Tyee After-School Program

Purpose Statement
To provide assistance to high school students during after-school program (including homework help and enrichment activities).

Essential Functions
• Provide academic help to students in the after-school Homework Help Center (subjects range from math, language arts, social studies, science, etc.)
• Assist in after-school enrichment programs.
• Maintain communication and relationships with CSC and school staff.

Work Location/Hours
Work hours will be approximately 12 hours per week, 2pm-5pm, Monday-Thursday; includes meetings and trainings as scheduled by the CSC Director and/or Site Manager.

Working Environment
This job is primarily performed at Tyee Educational Complex in SeaTac, WA in a generally clean and healthy environment. Reports to the Site Manager.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
SKILLS: Proficiency in high school math and/or language arts, as well as other high school classes; ability to tutor students.
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of core academic concepts; knowledge of cultural norms for students a plus.
ABILITY: Ability to communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities; ability to work effectively with other team members; good people skills and personal judgment.

Responsibility
Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others

Experience
Must have good English reading and writing skills. Experience working with youth in an academic environment. Experience working one-on-one and in small groups. Bilingual and/or bicultural a plus.

Education
Successful completion of a high school diploma or GED. Associates degree or higher in relevant discipline preferred. College students encouraged to apply.

Clearances
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearances (unless District employee)

Salary Range
$10.50-$15.00 per hour DOE; Approximately 10-15 hours per week through academic year. Limited summer work may be available.
