Do you want to manage a team of experienced and professional technical writers, providing them the management support they need to deliver high-quality, detail-oriented documentation? Can you collaborate with management peers in development, test, localization, and other internal groups to ensure the availability of resources so that the team can deliver mission-critical products to customers worldwide?
We’re looking for a talented, highly technical manager to lead a team of top-notch writers, working on simultaneous projects, with a wide variety of stakeholders. The successful candidate must have, above all, exceptional people management and team-building skills and the leader of the technical documentation group.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage, mentor, develop, and represent a team of seasoned writers, both as individuals and as a team.
•Provide strong leadership to the technical writers and serve as a liaison with other internal groups as needed.
•Strengthen your project management skills as you work across groups to coordinate documentation coverage for releases that overlap and coincide.
•Keep abreast of innovative technical communication trends and technologies, and their implementation in user assistance.
•Pave the way for innovative documentation models.
The ideal candidate for this Seattle, Washington-based position will have:
•Hands-on experience authoring and editing documentation for developers or technology professionals.
•Extensive project management experience, including the ability to manage people and projects on deadline.
•An understanding of the content needs for the developer audience.
•A sharp focus on maintaining quality, customer-driven documentation.

Requirements:
•BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
•Three to five years of people management experience, with a track record of managerial excellence.
•Comprehensive knowledge of tools, concepts, and practices of documentation development.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Exceptional problem-solving and cross-group negotiation skills, strong people and project management skills, and an understanding of business principles as applied to content development.
•Proven experience through multiple product release cycles.
•A solid knowledge of content management systems and technologies.
