SUMMARY

The Flash Designer works together with Creative, Programming and Marketing to execute on the brand vision. The objective is to expand our global audience and customer engagement utilizing SEO, social media, online communities, blogs, outbound/inbound links, downloadable content, CMS, and ecommerce solutions.

This role bridges the business requirements, creative, and technical aspects of the project delivery.The Flash Designer is the force behind development and implementation of user-experience designs according to creative and art direction established by the Director of Creative Services and Marketing.

The Designer must be able to collaborate to create results that blend their own creative abilities and ideas within prescribed guidelines and branding standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the Creative Director to define engaging and user centric experiences
• Create and design images and graphics for website using Adobe CS3 – CS4 suite
• Help establish work flow and processes to maintain strict schedules
• Maintain product consistency from both functional and design perspectives
• Collaborate with the QA team to develop and execute test plan to ensure high quality delivery of the implemented features before releasing them to customers
• Shift between business, creative, and technical development focus depending on the project need and/or the type of project
• Rapidly produce interim deliverables (wireframes, prototypes, proofs of concept, etc.) in addition to the final live site or application
• Take initiative to research and learn emerging technologies
• Create design prototypes including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content for website
• Translate marketing or informational content into a functional website
• Create engaging user experiences
• Work well as a team member
• Facilitate and negotiate business/technical decisions
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail
• Apply knowledge of development methodologies, life cycles, and best practices
• Determine all coding requirements for site creation including ecommerce capability, forms, and specialized scripts
• Create templates of approved website layout
• Coordinate with programmers for specialized scripts
• Perform maintenance and updates to existing websites when requested
• Submit completed site to search engines


REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field such as Technical Communications, Cognitive Science, or Computer Science
• 3 – 5 years experience developing consumer focused interactive products


DESIRED SKILLS

• Expertise in design software )Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, After Effects)
• Hands on experience in HRML, SCC, AJAX, and related technologies
• 3D illustration / animation a plus
• Superior knowledge of and understanding of Flash, After Effects and streaming media technologies with a pulse on current and emerging trends
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills
• Experience in client focused and delivery environments
• Advanced Visio, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks across multiple projects
• Strong knowledge of latest application development technology and development environments : D/X/HTML, Java, JavaScript, CSS, Flash, JSP, and PHP
• Some experience with XML, XSLT, DTD
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc)
• Extensive experience working on Mac platform with proficiency on both Mac and PC
• Solid understanding of client deliverables and the ability to take responsibility for them
• Demonstrated success in the design, integration, and delivery of projects on time and within budget
• Superior level of design and layout
• Positive attitude
• Familiarity and desire to work within an “agile” (scrum, etc) development environment
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Interest in developing entertaining, interactive games
• Works well under pressure and deadlines on multiple projects
• Game / entertainment industry experience preferred
