If you are an early riser and would like to make and serve breakfast for homeless young adults, we are looking for you!
ROOTS Young Adult Shelter is a homeless shelter in the U-District serving homeless youth, ages 18-25. In general, breakfast volunteers arrive at the shelter between 6:15am and 6:30am. They prepare a simple meal, which is served to guests from 7:00am-7:45am, and then clean up the kitchen afterward until 8:15 or 8:30am. Volunteers do not need to bring their own food as anything we have in the kitchen is available for their use.
If this sounds like something you’d like to do, let us know.
