Blue Nile is seeking a Website Technical Program Manager. The Website Technical Program Manager is responsible for the end to end delivery of customer facing features for the website. You will work with a team of talented designers to come up with detailed designs, requirements and project plans. You have the ability to easily work with developers and understand their technical challenges. Finally, you will work through the development stage and deliver the project on time and to spec.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Combination of 60% Product Management tasks and 40% Project Management tasks.
• Manage projects to completion.
• Develop requirements and schedules
• Manage designers and developers through a project
• Resolve issues as they come up and manage risk

Qualifications:

• Experience and understanding of web technologies (server and browser, IE & Firefox, Scripting), knowledge of relational databases (SQL), application servers, and Java.
• Experience managing multiple, simultaneous short and long-term projects.
• Proven project management skills managing the design, development, testing, and implementation of technical projects.
• Successful candidates will have at least 4 years work experience as a project manager in a software development environment.
• Experience with software development life cycles and release management is a must.
• Excellent skills in identifying solutions. Able to understand business user issues or needs, translate these into requirements, and propose solutions drawing on knowledge of underlying systems (both technical and manual) and creative design skills.
• Good organizational and communication skills (both written and oral). Can easily communicate business requirements and design with non-technical users of the system, then communicate technical concepts, procedures, and processes to the development team.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations throughout the organization. This includes effective communication of project status and project changes.
• Strong leadership skills and team building skills, and able to work under tight deadlines to achieve goals. Contribute leadership (both process and technical) to development process across the organization
• Must possess a self-starter, self-motivated mindset, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work independently with guided, but minimal supervision
• Experience in managing indirect reports and resources
• Experience working with bug/request tracking systems
