Senior Software Engineer – Java/C++, Web Services, Linux, SQL
High profile e-tailer has an immediate opening for top-notch and energetic software engineer who wants to challenge themselves by working on best-of-class and innovative e-commerce systems. In this position you will work with multiple stakeholders to analyze requirements and develop innovative, high-visibility, large scale, class leading financial and transaction processing systems/solutions. As one of the software engineers on this high profile team you will be responsible for design, development, testing, and documentation of systems that process millions of transactions daily. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years with OOP (Java and/or C++, Design Patterns) on UNIX/Linux.
- Experience with complex SQL queries and developing for large scale enterprise systems and databases (1 TB+).
- Experience with data modeling and database development for transaction processing (preferably Oracle).
- Experience with developing code for distributed, highly scalable, high availability systems.
- Experience with Apache, Tomcat, JMS/ActiveMQ.
- Experience with web development (Web Services, SOAP, REST, WSDL, etc.).
- Ability to understand business requirements and turn them into technical requirements/code.
- Ability to work well with others, as well as independently, in a fast paced environment with talented engineers.
- Experience working through the complete software development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of the relationship between back-end server, applications, database, and networks.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
- Strong team player.
- Bachelors in Computer Science or related degree.
Location: Seattle, WA
Type: Contract (for this position we cannot sponsor a visa or work corp-corp)
Target Start Date: ASAP/2 weeks notice
Duration: 6+ months
