Picnik is looking for a great application developer.
You: You love to program. And you are really good at it, even if you’re too shy to admit it. You’ve been programming for at least a few years professionally and you are passionate about creating consumer applications. Maybe you’ve done some Windows or Mac applications; maybe you’ve done some deep work in Flex/Flash, or even a super-clever iPhone app. You’ve spent hours making your UI/UX the best it can be, people love it. Naturally, you are also the star of your team. You are the person who everyone comes to with that hard problem, a person that the rest of the team really enjoys working with day in and day out. At the same time, you're not just a web dev. You've gone way past the surface of normal web development languages and have built deep products that excercise both sides of the client\server scenario.
Us: We’re a small (~17 sharp folks) startup that is working to take our product to the next level. We have a great application, tons of adoring users (>12M/month) and lots of runway ahead. We’re a team that works closely together. We’re a fun and good-natured bunch and we expect that no matter how much of a rock star you are, you still play well with others. You should be able to make us laugh. We work hard but we also know how to balance our lives. We’re financially stable and are starting some ambitious new projects. It’s a great time to join the team.
Now that the touchy feely stuff is out there, let’s talk some specifics.
Skills:
- 3 + years working experience in application development
- BS/BA in computer science or equivalent experience
- Imaging and\or Graphics technology expertise desirable
- Expertise in any\all of the following: Flex/ActionScript, C++, C, .NET, Ruby, or Python
- Direct experience with the use of current web APIs is a plus.
- Passion for user interaction, interfaces, and usability.
- Excellent exploratory, debugging, and problem solving skills are required, as are good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be in Seattle of willing to relocate to the Seattle area
