The Kindle for Computer team (Kindle for PC / Kindle for Mac) is looking for a innovative, results-oriented Software Development Engineer to help us change the way people read books on their computers.  Amazon Kindle is a revolutionary reading device and one of the most innovative and fast growing businesses at Amazon. This team designs, develops, and produces client applications built around the Amazon Kindle reading device.

This position is focused on client development (C++/Java).  We will be delivering our product on Windows, Macintosh, and other platforms in the future.  We are building a custom Kindle experience for people with and without Kindles.

• 1-3+ years of experience building production software
• A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)
• Deftness at object-oriented design and systems architecture
• Mastery of the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C), open-source technologies (Spring, Hibernate) and platforms (Windows, Macintosh, Windows Mobile).
• Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
