POSITION SUMMARY:
This individual has primary responsibility for the analysis and reporting of all quality control (QC) as it relates to Atlas Operations. Other responsibilities will include process improvement, establishment of QC protocols, responding to non-compliance reports and troubleshooting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee quality control and quality assurance.
• Develop, track, trend and analyze QC data.
• Summarize and present all findings in a formal monthly report using Pereto charts and other statistical analysis tools
• Work closely with members from Methods Develpment, Annotation, and Production to identify existing areas within Atlas Operations to be improved upon.
• Work with cross-departmental groups to establish and improve QC metrics for new and existing protocols.
• Respond to all non-compliance reports and make recommendations to prevent future occurances of these issues.
• Draft SOPs for document control processes.
• Assist in troubleshooting efforts as they arise in molecular biology, histology, microscopy, imaging, in situ hyridization, cyrosectioning, and other areas.
• Document and prepare reports with 100% accuracy and reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Able to use and present data using statistical analysis tools
• Proven ability to document accurately and precisely
• Ability work independently
Required Computer Skills
• Office 2000 or XP, Windows 7
• Extensive knowledge working with Excel
• Statistical software – R, JMP, SAS a plus.
Education/Experience/Certifications
• Bachelor degree (B.S.) in Science, Mathematics or Statistics
• 3+ years of related lab experience
• This position requires experience or working knowledge of quality control, molecular biology techniques, in-situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, general histology, and microscopic tissue morphology.
• Experience using and applying ANOVA analysis preferred
• Neuroscience experience a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Laboratory atmosphere - possible exposure to chemical, biological or other hazardous substances
• Working at computer and using mouse for extended periods of time
• Travel 2 – 6 times/year
