POSITION SUMMARY:
The Research Associate I, LCM is responsible for performing Molecular Biology related tasks to support the Laser Capture Microdissection process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with a team to support the medium-throughput Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM) process.
Perform tissue staining on slides.
Recognize and isolate discreet anatomical regions within a given tissue, under direction of project lead.
Perform various RNA isolation methods.
Follow standard operation procedures (SOPs) and good laboratory practices.
Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook and other required documentation.
Meet production schedules.
Support small projects as a part of the Molecular Biology core team.
Other duties as assigned.

1 year of laboratory experience in molecular biology and/or histology
Some microscopy experience would be helpful
Experience working in a high throughput facility is a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Laboratory atmosphere - possible exposure to chemical, biological or other hazardous substances
Working at computer and using mouse for extended periods of time
Sitting, standing, bending, squatting as found in typical office environment
