Position Summary
This Enterprise Network Engineer on the AskF5.com team specializing in our Big IP products

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for writing new technical solution content and reviewing and testing network solutions created by other ENEs for technical accuracy and publication on the internal and external technical support websites
  • Test and verify information submitted by engineers as solution candidates
  • Manage a testbed of equipment required for testing and verification
  • Interact with group Technical Writers to edit solution drafts
  • Manage own case workload in F5’s ticketing/workflow application
  • Contribute to process improvements within the group and the larger organization
Qualifications:
  • Minimum five-plus years relevant work experience.
  • Undergraduate Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Expert technical knowledge of UNIX, particularly BSD variants.
  • Expert technical knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Demonstrated experience and expert-level knowledge with network devices (routers, switches, etc.), including such topics as HTTP headers, ISO layers, and TCP flags.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of SSL (particularly server-based)
  • DNS admin experience
  • Familiarity with F5 load balancing and security products like BigIP preferred.
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere, as well as individually, and to demonstrate flexibility and creativity in a dynamic environment.
  • A desire to work extensively with F5 products, and to gain in-depth knowledge of the products.
  • Ability to document solutions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Duties are performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
