Urban Robotics Inc is a six year old defense engineering firm located in Portland, OR. Urban Robotics specializes in government contracts that provide aerial reconnaissance, computer vision, cluster computing and robotics. Position Summary

We are in need of versatile Field Service Engineers (FSE), ready to deploy to field locations in areas such as Iraq and Afghanistan on major U.S. bases. Time spent deployed OCONUS can range from a minimum of 6 months per year to 12 months per year, if desired. Flexible off-time is offered; when not working OCONUS, an FSE can choose to either take unpaid leave, or work in our Portland Office.

Primary duties include; installation, testing, operating, and general servicing of computer, and optical equipment. Secondary duties generally include processing data, and managing large databases of imagery in a variety of formats. Some FSE duties will be performed while on a small to medium sized DOD aircraft. All FSE’s are expected to be professional and competent in interaction in a DOD environment.

Job Requirements

Versatile; experience in computer architecture and/or repair required.
Beyond the normal level of software proficiency in windows based systems. Can you write a batch file?
U.S. Citizen and a valid U.S. SECRET Clearance; preference for candidates with a TS clearance.
Physically fit, to the extent that life in austere and demanding environments require.
Must be able to pass a flight physical.
Absolutely driven; workdays in the field may require a 24-hour shift if the mission demands.

Experience

Convince us you have enough.
Prior DOD work, either military or contracting in OCONUS locations.
A degree, or military equivalent, in the field you possess the most experience in. This can be waived if sufficient field experience or astute technical ability can be demonstrated.

OCONUS work includes standard DOD Hazard Pay, when applicable.
