Partnership for Learning (PFL) was formed in 1994 to communicate about the need to prepare all students for college and work. As a 501c3 nonprofit, PFL provides compelling policy analysis, builds and leads advocacy coalitions, and engages a far-reaching network of business, education and community leaders to deliver high-quality communications and advocacy. Primary projects include efforts to strengthen high school graduation requirements, standards and assessments, teaching effectiveness, and the quality of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in Washington state.

We seek a dynamic, skilled individual to support the day-to-day operations of the PFL team. This position requires someone to execute complex clerical duties, while performing routine administrative tasks. The Business Manager works closely with the Executive Director, but PFL’s operations extend to a wide range of stakeholders across the state. The Business Manager’s tasks are broken into general office management, budgeting and financial management, fundraising support, meeting coordination and event planning.

The successful candidate must possess the following:

• Five years of prior experience as an office manager and/or administrative assistant
• Effective organizational skills
• Basic accounting/book keeping experience. Full charge QuickBooks experience strongly desired
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel and familiarity with Access and PowerPoint
• Ability to compose and edit basic correspondence, invoices and email communications
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Capability to travel within state occasionally
• Experience providing fundraising support is preferred
• Highly organized and a detail-oriented self-starter
• Flexible, resourceful and good humored
• Creative, imaginative, and innovative problem solver
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
