Staff Registered Nurse, New to Specialty - Telemetry & Critical Care (Seattle, WA)
The New to Specialty program provides experienced acute care nurses with training (typically 12-24 weeks) in specialty areas that match their interests and career goals. There is only one application to complete; during the application process candidates will be able to designate their area of interest.

We accept applications throughout the year for the RN New to Specialty Program which includes cohorts starting in January, May and September (specific start dates TBD - please note that not all units have openings during every cohort). You can specify your preferred cohort during the application process.
Applications are screened by the Human Resources Department. Applicants that successfully meet the requirements of the position will be contacted for a phone interview with the Nurse Recruiter. Additional interviews will be conducted with the hiring manager and peer interview team for those applicants who are successful in the HR screening process.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. He or she is also responsible for delegation and supervision of personnel that participate in the provision of care to ensure that patient needs and expected outcomes are met.
In this position you will:
Collect pertinent assessment data including present condition, past history, physical, spiritual and psychosocial information
Develop, review and revise an individualized care plan
Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and coworkers
Utilize the nursing process to prepare for discharge/transfer, beginning with admission and continuing throughout hospitalization
Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. Applicants without a BSN degree must actively pursue and attain a BSN within five years of hire. Continued employment by Swedish beyond five years is contingent upon attaining the BSN degree
Current Washington RN License
Current BLS Certification
Experience in acute care medical/surgical nursing
Must complete the Swedish “New to Specialty” training program
