As a Nordstrom Sous Chef you will partner with the Chef of your concept to foster and support culinary excellence. You will be the lead person in charge when the Chef is not in the kitchen. As such you will be responsible for maintaining the Nordstrom standards and quality expectations as well as developing the rest of the kitchen team towards the same goals. You will also work in concert with training new talent along with the Chef. This is a fast pace environment dealing with excellent ingredients to deliver exceptional cuisine.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and support the restaurant kitchen environment by monitoring kitchen presentation, cleanliness, supporting brand consistency and assist in implementing new kitchen strategy and action plans.
• Motivating kitchen team to push themselves for efficiency, strive for culinary excellence, comply with company procedures, and maximize profitability while also performing excellence in each of those areas.
• Training and monitoring the development of all levels of kitchen staff.
• Lead your team to provide the freshest, best food possible in accordance with the Nordstrom Brand.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Have a passion for food, be a positive motivational leader and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
• The aspiration to advance your career into the Sous position or beyond.
• 2-5 years experience in food & beverage service,
• Be flexible in your work schedule and have a desire to learn.
• Food handler’s card may be required according to local and/or state requirements.
