Summary: The Executive Director for event is responsible for overall operations, management, and development of Assist Web’ programs, fund-raising initiatives, and to further the cause. As a member of Assist web’ management team, the Executive Director will work with board members, case managers, and volunteers to uphold the values and further the goals of the organization.
Duties: Work under the guidance and leadership of the Board of Directors to develop the diverse resources and funding streams along with gearing up for the coming event necessary to financially support Assist Web (AW) operations and projects. Plan, organize, implement, oversee, and control operational and program functions of AW. Organize and prioritize assigned work load to meet timelines and deliverables. Maintain confidentiality protocols throughout the organization.
Provide leadership and coordinate/delegate responsibility to staff relating to AW objectives and programs. Recruit, retain, provide training, and effectively utilize the talents of staff and volunteers associated with AW by maintaining an inclusive, collaborative work environment. Utilize principled negotiation to resolve conflicts and make critical decisions in a timely manner while maintaining the integrity of the team.
Write and speak clearly, tactfully, and persuasively as a representative of AW and continuously update public presentation skills and use of communication technologies. Initiate and maintain beneficial relations with stakeholders, including residents, staff, volunteers, government agencies, policy makers, community leaders, media representatives, and partners. Collaborative effectively and build coalitions with associated agencies and individuals.
Reports to: The Chair of the Assist Web Board of Directors
Qualifications:
1. Female, with a BA in a Social Science field and wanting to create/start management experience in a nonprofit organization. Master’s Degree preferred not required. Additional education or experience may be substituted for requirements on a case-by-case basis.
2. Having experience with non-profits in multiple roles is a differentiating criterion
3. Valid Washington State driver’s license, a working vehicle, and documentation verifying insurance coverage.
4. Great communication skills – both written and oral.
5. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptation to change.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
7. First Aid/CPR certification must be attained within the first three months of employment.
8. Ability to design/modify forms and complete a variety of written log entries, service notes, formal written service reports, and other correspondence professionally and in a timely manner.
9. Commitment to providing compassionate support for kids and students in transition or otherwise to community. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to de-escalate confrontational and stressful interactions and situations. Interest in - and commitment to- developing productive relationships with clients and staff.
10. Strong managerial, organizational, teambuilding, networking, and group facilitation skills.
The following background checks are required for this position: DMV background check for driving record and valid driver’s license, DSHS Background Clearance per applicable WAC’s and RCW’s, and WATCH Background Check.
