BURNING FUSE FILM FESTIVAL
Dir: Various
2007-2008 USA / Color, Video / Various
Burning Fuse, which premiered in San Francisco four months ago as the brainchild of filmmaker Todd Darling, is a journey of discovery. This collection of six fascinating and thought-provoking documentaries ranges from topics as varied as how Bush’s environmental de-regulation has affected a wide range of Americans (A Snowmobile for George), an ex-stripper’s conversion to evangelical Christianity (Pussycat Preacher), soldiers who become conscientious objectors (Soldiers of Conscience), young surfers in war-torn Liberia (Sliding Liberia), voting booth conspiracies related to the 2004 U.S. presidential election (Murder, Spies and Voter Lies: The Clint Curtis Story), and the story of Faubourg Treme, New Orleans, arguably the oldest Black neighborhood in America: the birthplace of the Civil rights movement and the home of jazz (Faubourg Treme).
