p style="margin: 0px">Amazon Vendor Systems group is looking for a software development manager for its team to drive and lead the architecture, design, and development of highly scalable applications, web services and systems using Java, JMS, Perl/Mason, XML/XSLT technologies and Object Oriented Design in a large-scale, complex and distributed environment. 

 

Our mission is to create the systems and tools required for Amazon suppliers to integrate effortlessly with Amazon systems and continuously improve their operational performance. Suppliers need to be able to set up EDI and other communications with Amazon, receive feedback on their performance and correct any problems in a low friction, easily operated fashion. The vendor systems team is creating supplier facing, self-service applications that enable suppliers to do all of this. The goal is to build a collaborative environment for suppliers to operate and succeed in.
 
A successful candidate should be a highly motivated individual who is willing to take on challenging initiatives, capable of working both independently and with others as a team, follow through to deliver results, analyze results, and feed the learning gained into fine tuning the systems. If you have a degree in Computer Science, over 5 years of broad real-world software development experience, and love a fast paced environment, we want to talk to you.

 

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates will have experience leading multiple simultaneous product development efforts. The ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment is critical.
• This leader must be technically credible to lead a team of world class software engineers and be able to make the right design decisions and technology choices.
• He or she must be able to balance technical leadership with good business judgment. Delivering the right product with a scalable engineering design under tight timelines is an essential skill.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in building distributed systems and should be an expert in object oriented design.
• Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Computer Science preferred. Previous engineering experience required.
• Experience in Finance or Business related Subject is a plus.
