This is supervisory and advanced transportation engineering position responsible for the engineering/planning activities of the Cityˇ¦s transportation program. Responsible for supervising direct reports. Reports to the City's Transportation Manager.
Primary Duties:
Supervision of the assigned staff; assigns, schedules, supervises, and inspects, to ensure efficient, effective and quality day-to-day work of the staff engaged in assigned projects verifying quality and quantity of work.
Coordinate resources needed for preparation of the Comprehensive Transportation Plan.
Prepares the Six Year Transportation Improvement Program, and Transportation element of the Capital Facilities Plan.
Coordinates the resources needed to research, prepare and administer transportation grant applications.
Coordinates the resources needed to implement the Cityˇ¦s Transportation Model.
Provide technical engineering guidance and review, including plan review, associated with both development review and capital projects related to transportation/traffic.
Administers the ROW management program including franchise agreements, public way agreements, and ROW use agreements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering AND five years of successful civil engineering experience: OR a combination of education, training and experience that would indicate successful completion of the essential job functions listed above. Two years of successful transportation engineering and one year of successful supervisory experience in an engineering setting preferred; municipal engineering experience preferred; PE preferred. Possess and retain a valid Washington State Driverˇ¦s License without impending loss at time of appointment.
