People who have taught English in countries like Italy, Spain, Beijing China, Taiwan or Thailand usually end up going to South Korea since there are more opportunities for career advancement and because of the standard of living. It has all the amenities, luxuries and consumption habits of most western countries (if not more so) but is also surrounded by the charm and beauty of ancient Korean civilization. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say you could make yourself at home in Korea.
