Preschool Teacher
We are currently seeking a full time preschool teacher in Seattle, WA.
Purpose: To provide a safe, caring, and academically and socially enriching environment for preschool children ensuring the curriculum and activities are developmentally appropriate and meet identified academic and developmental assets.
Accountability and Functions:
Operations Management: Contribute to and assist in maintaining smooth and organized site operations management by
Planning, preparing, and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities ensuring both curriculum and activities meet identified academic and developmental assets.
Practicing positive behavioral guidance;
Communicating with parents on a daily basis
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all federal, and local regulatory requirements are met by
Preparing/serving breakfast and or afternoon snack in accordance with Department of Health Food Safety standards;
Maintaining center appearance and cleanliness, including post activity clean up;
Enforcing all general safety rules of the center;
Completing all required trainings including State Training and Registry Service workshops;
Keeping all certifications such as First Aid, CPR and Food Handlers current
Continuing to participate in Professional Development activities
Operational Support: Support the organizational structure and mission by
Attending weekly staff meetings;
Suggesting improvements to our programs and services as needed
Assist with community outreach and staff recruitment as needed
Qualifications:
Required
AA degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development strongly preferred
Evidence of completion of a minimum of 20 hours of Basic STARS training
A minimum of 3 years experience working with preschool children (3-5 years old)
Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information appropriately;
Strong communication skills; proven ability to communicate with children and adults in a positive and proactive manner;
Ability to create versatile and varied age appropriate activities for children of different ages and developmental stages;
A demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
Desired
BA in education or related field;
Experience working in a not-profit organization.
