Part-time Homestay Coordinator: If you would like to work from home, are active in your community, and would still like to meet the needs of your family – working as a Compass USA homestay coordinator, is the best of all worlds!
Compass USA is an organization of people that live in communities throughout the United States who promote intercultural understanding by facilitating homestay programs. Our main objective is to meet the needs and concerns of our host families and our visitors from overseas.
Minimum Requirements: College graduate with experience in community work. Other job or volunteer experience can be substituted for college education. Lived in the community for three or more years, worked as a volunteer in the community and have contacts with families through various community organizations.
Available Summer Programs:
15 teenage students from Japan will reside in your community with volunteer host families for two weeks in March. They will attend English classes most days (total of 12 hours of classroom time per week) and participate in two full day excursions and four half-day activities during their stay. Pay is approximately $2000.
Program Coordinators will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
Recruit and visit VOLUNTEER Host Families for the students.
Attend local training meetings.
Plan, supervise, and attend full day excursions and half-day activities, airport transfers, welcome and farewell parties.
Be available to all participants during the program in case of an emergency.
**PAY: Pay is based on timely completion of host family recruiting etc.
