We're a group of MBA's from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington on a startup and we’re looking to add technical muscle to our founding team.

What we're doing
We're developing a couple small SaaS applications, built in Rails, to support advertising solutions for the growing Hyper Local media space. We currently have devs working the project and we're hoping to start our BETA in October/November.

What we need
While the role currently makes only part-time demands, the right person to join us as the Tech Lead/Architect should be passionate, enthusiastic and Agile - those three traits are far more important to us than experience. They should also be able to:
- Translate functionality into bite sized pieces for devs - some of whom are offshore
- help prioritize dev efforts based on effort/value trade offs
- get hands dirty writing code
- continually strive to identify shortest paths including the use of plugins
- be proactive to help us where we don't yet know we need help
- current Rails expertise is not required but aptitude and interest are, goes hand in hand with the problem solving traits we're after

Why we're excited
We have reached out to media owners and advertisers and the initial response has been strong, to the point that they are providing product-related input. We (the MBAs) have the skills and experience to reach potential customers who have a real need, today, that isn’t being addressed. This is a sizeable opportunity and the down economy actually provides a terrific backdrop for new and innovative services to emerge in the space.

Please let me know if you are interested or feel free to forward this to others you think might have an interest. Thanks, Brian.
