1975 Mercedes 230 Lo Mileage and New Price - $4950 (NE Seattle)

Beautiful, time-warp sedan with 64,000 ORIGINAL MILES -- the proverbial "little old lady" car! This is the rare, gas-powered model of one of the best chassis series (W114/115) Mercedes ever built. Interior is nearly perfect; exterior has one small dent on left rear bumper (see photo) and a couple of parking lot blemishes. All were there before I bought the car, and are nothing that Dent Wizard couldn't take care of. No rust. I've got records dating back to original owner -- including his hand written notes from 1975, and then the transfer a few years thereafter to the woman who owned it for the next 30 years. I bought the car last year from a local Mercedes enthusiast who had bought it for his son, but ended up not wanting to give it to him (something about school grades or behavior…). I have enjoyed it immensely as my daily driver -- the car truly drives like a dream, and is built the way Mercedes USED to build them, as if carved out of a single block of steel (nothing like the "thunk" of an old Mercedes car door). With a 93 hp 4 cylinder engine in a 3,000 lb car, it's not the fastest car in town but easily and comfortably cruises at 70-80 mph (and is still way faster than the diesel). The previous owner installed a modern Pioneer am/fm/cd player, but I have the original Becker am/fm radio, which I sent back to Becker North America to upgrade it to make it iPod compatible. I'm selling because our oldest is off to college this fall and in the summer I commute on my Vespa, so we don't need the space/insurance/gas hassles of an extra car. So RELUCTANTLY I am giving it up. NADA prices these from $3,000 (Scruffy) to $6,650 (Perfect). Mine is definitely closer to the upper end, but I like to be reasonable and would rather not haggle. Phone or e-mail: (206) 817-6692, jeff1220@mac.com for more info, more pics, or to make arrangements to view the car. Thanks!
