The Channel Product Manager will work to develop additional product enhancements and opportunities for our members. In particular, this position will be tasked with expanding our distribution and channel relationships helping to extend the reach of our member’s audio, video or printed work. Expanding distribution and channel options will enhance the value of the CreateSpace’s offering to our Independent and Publishing members. The PM will work closely with Enterprise, Production, Development and Marketing teams to identify key distribution opportunities, negotiate advantageous partnerships, implement these within the product workflow and promote them to our members.

 

The ideal candidate will aggressively seek out and negotiate strategic business relationships. They will also drive implementation and integration of these relationships into the product experience providing superior value to our members. This position requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, technical knowhow, analytical competency, and a deep understanding of the customer and the site experience. The person in this key role must have the ability to build solid relationships within a matrixed organization.

 

Primary Objectives:

• Develop deep understanding of CreateSpace Independent and Publishing members
• Identify potential product enhancement business relationships in particular Distribution and Channel opportunities that meet the needs of our members.
• Aggressively negotiate long-term distribution partnerships to enhance our product offering.
• Work with development, production and project management teams to implement distribution opportunities.
• Manage on-going relationship with partners
• Develop, implement and rollout promotional plans in conjunction with PR and Marketing teams.
• Build key performance metrics and measure the performance of our distribution partners against those metrics

 

Background & Experience:

The person selected for this role should be forward-thinking and implement plans operationally. Must have a track record of sound business judgment, ability to influence others and strong analytical skills.  Excellent oral and written communication skills a must.  Have experience working under pressure in a high-volume environment with the ability to problem solve, multitask and prioritize. Must be a self starter with strong organizational skills and an ability to work in an unstructured environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office and have exposure to various analytics systems.  7 years relevant business development or Product Marketing experience, previous experience with Media Distribution and Marketing a plus. MBA preferred.
