Blue Nile seeks a Director of Merchandise Planning to drive the company’s merchandising financial management in a fast paced, productive, team environment. He or she will be responsible for sales/ margin forecasting by category by sku and will drive inventory management and optimization with objectives to increase turn and minimize backorders. The Director of Merchandise Planning will lead product pricing/ margin management in order to achieve company financial goals. This intellectually curious, driven individual will be highly analytical and data savvy and will pursue data, analytics and information in order to draw conclusions and form recommendations to drive revenue and margin in the business. This team player and leader will train, coach, develop and motivate team members both within the organization as well as cross functionally, to deliver exceptional performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop accurate sales/ margin forecasting for the total business as well as by category by sku
• Drive inventory management and optimization strategy to increase turn and maintain industry leading customer order fulfillment rate
• Lead product pricing/ margin management in order to achieve company financial goals
• Drive analytics in order to draw conclusions and form recommendations to drive revenue and margin in the business
• Provide relevant forecasts to operational areas to facilitate effective capacity and production planning
• Train, coach, develop and motivate team members to achieve their best
• Work cross functionally to facilitate needed coordination to deliver exceptional performance

Qualifications:

• Strong communicator and team player
• Insightful management skills
• 4 year college degree required/ MBA a plus
• 5+ years experience in inventory management and planning
• Expertise in MS Excel required
• Supply Chain Management and APICS certification a bonus
