Temporary Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager:
Northern Industrial is a manufacturing and distribution company located in Seattle that has been in business for over 60 years. The position is in our corporate headquarters that is located in Georgetown just south of downtown Seattle; near Costco (Free parking). Our office is a small, casual, and friendly office environment.
We recently acquired a distribution company with facilities in Spokane, WA, and Pell City, Alabama, and we are looking for a temporary senior accountant/accounting manager to help us with the accounting set up, and possibly switching to a new accounting system. This has the potential to turn into a permanent position with even more responsibility.
We need someone that has strong accounting, analytical and communication skills who is experienced with MAS 90 and Crystal Reports. This person should have experience with all aspects of accounting including multi-currency accounting, accounts payable, billings, collections, costing of inventory, payroll, etc... Ideally this person will have had previous experience with both manufacturing and distribution companies, and participated in system implementations in the past.
We are looking for a take charge type person to work with existing accounting and operation staff to ensure systems are accurately set-up, currently about 90% complete, to make sure operations staff is properly trained to enter transaction, and to develop necessary reports, budgets, and procedures. Once we get a steady state, this person will help with the conversion from MAS90 to NetSuites or another similar accounting system. Hours are flexible and pay depends on experience.
Key Qualifications:
The requirements are a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field combined with a minimum of five (5) years of solid general accounting management experience in the distribution or manufacturing industry. Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. Must have strong computer skills and experience with financial reporting. Must be able to think strategically and act decisively. Requires effective leadership skills necessary to influence desired outcomes. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Must be detail oriented. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and the general public is required. Applied knowledge of MAS 90, Crystal Reports, and MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required.
