The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle is an established not-for-profit organization connecting and building a vibrant Jewish community in Seattle, in Israel and around the world through philanthropy, volunteerism, advocacy, and education for over 80 years. We help develop and leverage the community’s resources to address needs and solve community problems. Each year, the Jewish Federation raises and distributes almost $6 million through its Community Campaign and another $4 million through its endowment.

Position Summary
The VP for Finance & Administration is the business manager/senior administrator of the Federation, responsible for strategic business planning, operations, and financial management for the Federation. This individual reports to the President & CEO and is part of the senior management team. The VP for Finance & Administration has a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including financial planning/management, budget development, supervision of support staff, Human Resources, payroll, purchasing, facilities management, security, information technology, special project support, and other administrative functions.


Requirements:
The successful candidate for this position will have:
• Bachelors degree required, MBA or comparable master’s degree preferred. CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in a senior level finance position.
• Demonstrated skills in accounting, budgeting, and financial management required.
• Experience in not-for–profit financial accounting and operations management.
• Effective communicator (verbal and written) with a wide range of people, including executive management, staff, Board members, and community leaders.
• Leadership and strategic planning skills with high ethical standards and professional presence.
• Effective negotiator with experience in contracts.
• Experienced supervisor with demonstrated ability to select, develop, motivate, mentor, and retain high performing staff.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail. Ability to produce quality results within tight time frames while simultaneously managing several on-going projects.
