Rusty is approximately 9 years old, weighs 14 lbs. and would make a terrific pet for someone who is home all/most of the time ….because he doesn’t like to be alone…
We are hoping to find a new home and companion for Rusty who can meet his needs for attention and loving care.

Rusty is very routine oriented and does not have any bad habits that many other dogs have (i.e. chewing on things that don’t belong to him, digging, barking excessively, etc.)
He is easygoing and loves to be around people…young and old.
He gets along with other dogs, but prefers to be the only one in the home so he doesn’t have to compete for attention.
He is playful and gentle and very loyal and loved dearly.

A loving home would consist of someone who would:
~allow him to sleep on his/her bed each night, if desired
~be willing to cater to his individual needs
~be willing to bathe him once a week (he is an indoor dog…but also loves to be outdoors with his “masters”)
~be willing to take him to the groomers regularly (for haircuts and toenail trimming)
~be able to keep him updated on his shots and checkups
~be able to provide him with a “window seat” for lounging!
~be willing to spoil him!

(Our preference would be to keep him near Puyallup to enable him to maintain his relationship with his vet and groomer…and possible dog sitting options when you need to go on vacation…but not a mandatory requirement.)

His right eye seems the worst of the two, and he is very stiff. But this does not stop him from prowling the house in search of interesting stuffs to sniff. He stunk like dead animal when we found him, and even after a bath, I suspect he may have rolled in something skunk-related.
He is extremely sweet, but appears to have some medical issues.

If you are missing this little Mr. Dog, please let us know. We intend to host him at our house getting lots of love and gourmet chow until we are able to find his people, as I fear he would be euthanized at a shelter due to his ancient age and physical condition.

We intend to take him to the vet tomorrow to have him scanned for a microchip and checked out in general. His nails are a little shredded from walking on pavement, and his legs seem slightly raw. I have a feeling he may have been lost days ago.

*Only 2 cats or 1 cat and 1 dog (subject to space availability) per person or address will be taken on a given day. Only 3 animals per individual or address in any 3-month period. A Washington driver’s license or state issued photo ID is required.

* We DO NOT operate on a first-come first-served basis. Arrive between 7:15 am and 7:30 am to receive your clinic lottery ticket. No tickets distributed after 7:30 am.

* Spay or neuter surgery is FREE* for pets of those individuals on public assistance: Proof of participation in a state or federal public assistance program (not Medicare) is required.

For those not on public assistance: Cat spays $30; cat neuters $20; dog spays $55; dog neuters $45. We provide low-cost vaccinations and flea treatments for $10 each for pets that are in the clinic for surgery. We accept CASH ONLY.

* Dogs must be at least four (4) months of age. Kittens must weigh at least 3 pounds.

* Dogs 8 years and older must have a blood work-up by your veterinarian prior to clinic surgery and we must have that report. Our vet staff has the right to turn away your pet for any medical, health or behavioral issue. Pregnant or in-heat animals can be brought for surgery.

* We cannot accommodate aggressive dogs or dogs over 70 lbs.

* Do not give your adult animal any food or water after 10 pm the night before surgery. Four-month old puppies or kittens should be fed and given water, up to half their usual amount, the morning of surgery. Dogs must be on a well-fitted collar and leash (or in a carrier). Cats must be confined in a carrier or pillowcase. ONLY ONE CAT PER CARRIER OR PILLOWCASE! Escape will put your pet in serious danger in the parking lot or street.

A donation of one towel per animal is greatly appreciated.

Animals must be picked up at the designated time on the day of surgery. The Veterinary Technician or Coordinator will assign you your animal pick-up time when you drop off your pet in the morning.

If you want more people to have fixed cats then shouldn't your industry be giving fixed kittens away for free? I'd much rather have a fixed cat -but I don't, and the reason why is quite simply that I don't want to spend the money for the convenience of having the cat fixed when it fits into my schedule. Yes I know you said there are free and low cost alternatives, but my experience is that free is only if you show you are poor (who wants to do that) and the same goes for low cost in some cases, and even if they don't want to get all up in your financial b'ness they still want to make you come down on a certain day between certain hours.

I don't know how much it cost to kill a cat .vs how much it cost to fix one, but if it means as much to you and your kind as you say it does to stop over breeding then I think the only way you are going to have real success is to have more control over the kittens that people get, and the way to do that is to offer free on-demand spay and neuter services. Maybe you can get corporate sponsorship, or maybe vet interns can do the job, or maybe the drug companies have a solution (btw why can't i put my cat on birth control just like i do my daughter????). I don't know the answer, but I do know that flagging post on CL and chastising people like me isn't going to solve the problem.

Good luck to you. - I'd really like to see a solution too - just not as badly as you do.

Zoe is a bit more shy than Tinsley, and took about a week longer to adjust to her new surroundings. Once she is comfortable, however, she loves attention and absolutely adores being brushed and petted. Zoe would be quite overwhelmed by too much activity in her new home, so young kids would not be a good fit for her.

Tinsley is a bit more outgoing than her sister, and just as sweet. She will head butt you for hours to get your attention, and I suspect she is the type of kitty to sit on the part of the newspaper you’re trying to read so you’ll pay attention to her instead. She has a purr that can be heard in the next room and always greets you with it.

These two girls are extremely bonded and absolutely inseparable, so they must find their new home together. If you’ve never had two cats before, you’ll never go back to just one! Cats are very social animals and feel much more secure in pairs/groups, you’ll find hours of enjoyment just watching them play, sleep, eat, and cuddle with each other (and of course with you). Please consider giving these wonderful kitties a second chance in a good home!

Zoe and Tinsley are spayed, and will be microchipped, flea treated, and FVRCP vaccinated prior to adoption. They will come with whatever food I have left (Innova dry food), as well as any other supplies I can spare (litter box, toys, etc.). well we have a nice home with a parent home most of the time. we send our dog to the groomers for nail cuttings and yearly vet checks. we go for walks, play ball and the sleeping arrangements are more than what a dog can ask for. ours is at our feet in our blankets. so if you have a doxie that for some reason you just need to find a good home for, let us know and send pics. we just request that they can get along with another dog it's size.

yes we have considered shelters or rescues but they make the paperwork so difficult and we would rather do it on our own.

Cassie is an 8 year old purebred beagle. She likes her crate, but she does wet in it so I have to wash the blanket a lot. She doesn't have many other accidents at all, though. She's happy to sack out in a warm spot most of the day and get love but will play too. I think she'd love to be an only dog but she's been with Brownie most of her life and a couple of labs before that, and is also great with kids. She hasn't been around cats much at all. She went through obedience training a long time ago but I've really let it lapse, and she could use a lot of practice on her behavior. She could also stand to lose some weight.

Brownie is extremely active, rambunctious, and strong 7 year old. I was told he's a basset/lab mix, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has some pit bull in him or maybe corgi or who knows what. He acts more like a 2 year old and has a ton of fun with active kids and teenagers. He loved to pull my son on his skateboard, but he sure isn't getting to do that with me! He's been with Cassie since he was a puppy, and really likes small dogs much better than big ones. He hasn't been around cats much at all. He went through obedience training a long time ago but was definitely the class clown and I've really let it lapse, and he could use a lot of practice on his behavior. He is also quite a chewer, even on walls, and I've had to either keep him close by or confined to an area that he can't mess up. I'd particularly like to find a fun and active home for Brownie. A fenced yard for him to run around would be super, but not a deal breaker. One thing about him is that dog sitters and others who've done a lot of running aound with him absolutely fall in love with him and have a lot less trouble with him than I do. He's a great dog, I'm just not such a great owner these days!

I'd like to find a loving home for my dogs, either separately or together, where someone is around a lot of the time. I'm asking $50 cash for each dog, which includes a crate and leash and probably a few other things. In the morning our cat is going to the animal shelter. He is a good guy -- but he acts out because he is not happy living in an apartment. He is a suburb cat. He needs a good warn home with food AND an outside to roam and hunt.

If it makes you feel better -- $20 adoption fee: the rest of his food, his bed and a few toys he has ingored here, but may like when he's happier. The fee is your choice.

You have to promise a good home for the chap -- he is a lover. He is great with dogs -- we shares the bed with our two big dogs often.

He barks very little, let's you know someone is at the door. Potty trained, has never messed in the house.
Is a great walking partner, patient. He has the basic training. Sit, stay, rollover (show me your belly)shake. A blast to play hide and seek with.
Even though his coat is thick, He prefers to lay at your feet inside. He's been lovingly spoiled. No table scraps and does not beg at the dinner table.
My Little white dog is a fluffy 75 lbs or so, Please make a great loving home for him and he will return the love. He is neutered.

Maggie is a sweet 3 year old black AmStaff/Lab mix girl who was abandoned by her owner in a house and left for dead. She weighs 53 pounds and has the solid build and sleek, easy-care coat of an AmStaff. Maggie loves people and adores children. She did very well with the 9 year-old girl she was evaluated with, and would make a nice dog for a family with school-aged children.

Maggie is a very sweet, loyal, and loving girl who loves attention. She has a really nice temperament and will make a wonderful family member - a very sweet dog. She does well with other dogs and ignores our cats (though supervision at first is always important when introducing new pets). Her partial Lab heritage has made her a bird watcher, and the ducks on the pond at the shelter held her interest. Maggie is housetrained. She has had some obedience training and knows "Sit" and does very well on a leash. She is a smart girl who learns quickly, and wants to please. This sweetie is such a nice girl and is just waiting for her own loving family! Can someone give her a chance?
