The goal here is to rehearse a handful of times and then get out there and play. Pursuit is to play once or twice a month, better clubs, or good private functions (in the Pierce or Thurston County areas). Candidates must be capable on their instrument(s) or vocals and be reliable. Also, candidates must have reliable and gig worthy gear! We are loud and proud...but key to this project is fun (and respect for each other)! Rehearsals will be either Saturday or Sunday mid-day. If everyone's doing their homework, we should have four sets down in a month or so and then get playing (i.e., if we need to rehearse ad nauseum, something's wrong!).

Absolutely no drugs. Light drinking okay, so long as it does not interfere with your playing!

Opening is immediate. If you shoot me a phone number (or if you prefer email) all communications will receive a response within 24 hours! Again, we say "semi-pro" as a guage to our ability, but this will NOT be a project on which livings are made! This is fun and entertaining. I have been a Licensed In-home Child Care Provider since 1998. Prior to opening my own child care I worked as a nanny and in a center with children of all ages. I believe that children learn through play and interaction with other children. All children enrolled with me have the opportunity to participate in the Raising A Reader program. Each week, the kids take home a book bag with 4 books to share with their parents and siblings. The book bags are rotated so every child has to opportunity to experience the joy of reading 16-20 books with their parents each month.

I am current on CPR and First Aid certification. I attend 20-30 hours of child care related classes each year (the state requires that licensed child care providers attend at least 10 hours of classes). I am an active member of the Thurston County Family Child Care Association and Washington State Family Child Care Association.

Enrollment includes preschool activities, meals/snacks, diapers/wipes and other special activities.

The other two kittens are also rescued kittens and are available for adoption. The kitten on his back is a little orange and white male with a very inquisitive and playful personality - he loves sleeping in unusual positions (as is very apparent), has a pink nose, and loves to scamper about and investigate things. The other kitten is a small grey tabby who loves to sleep on and be with people. He is extremely intelligent and behaves more like a companion than a pet.

There is a small adoption fee as recommended by PETA and other organizations that promote safe pet adoptions.

I am looking to work with a family as a part-time nanny or babysitter, preferably around 10-20 hours a week. My current schedule is open Monday until 4, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, and all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I generally charge $8-$12 an hour, depending on the situation and number of children, and I am open to some trade. Another Rescue to re-home. This is Missy, a black lab or black lab mix. She looks to be 8 or 9 months old. She is a very sweet girl but VERY submissive. We believe she may have been abused in her former home. When we got her she was emaciated and had all kind of scabs and open sores. She is not spayed, but we have an appointment to get her in at the end of the month.

She is very friendly, but I do not recommend placing her in a home with small dogs. She plays with my dachshunds, but often she is a bit too rough. She is about 45 pounds right now and she is still gaining weight. She is still a bit on the slim side, but is otherwise healthy. We are asking a $50 rehoming fee to help with post-surgery antibiotics and pain management medication and to help with supplies for the other rescues.

Space in the shelter can be limited, so foster parents save lives by opening their homes and hearts to help young, ill, or injured animals. The joy of seeing an animal recover from misfortune and then be placed in a loving, permanent home -knowing that YOU made a direct difference in this animal's life - is very rewarding and will keep you coming back for more.

CAT FOSTERING OPPORTUNITIES:

- We often have pregnant or nursing momma cats that need a temporary foster home while they are still nursing their kittens. Space in the shelter is limited for these situations and a home environment is more comfortable for the mom and her litter.

- Homes are also needed for motherless kittens that are too young to be placed for adoption.

- We sometimes have older kittens or adult cats that need a place to recuperate for a little while until they are ready to go up for adoption.

HOW TO FOSTER:

Just stop by the Animal Shelter and pick up a Volunteer Application, or download one from our webpage. Bring your completed application to one of the volunteer orientations. You can find the list of upcoming orientation dates on our webpage or you can call the shelter for the dates and time. After orientation and a background check, we will also arrange for a home visit.

If your children are not in the same school district,( Horizon Elementary) I am able to provide transportation to nearby schools. I have been driving 16 years and I have an excellent driving record. I would be caring for your child/children in my home. My downstatirs is completely baby friendly,( gates to the kitchen,stairs, etc....) and my upstatirs bonus room is set up for entertaining school aged children. Either age range, your child/children would be well cared for and have lots of fun. I live approx one mile from the College/Yelm HWY intersection.
