Fish Tale Brewing is seeking a General/Plant Manager to oversee the operations of its brewery in Olympia, Washington. Job duties include the supervision of the on-site pub manager, brewmaster and packaging manager. The successful candidate will manage the day to day operations of the brewery, review processing schedules, coordinate and manage facility and equipment maintenance, monitor product standards, ensure a safe and healthy workplace, and work with upper management in the development of procedures, policies and budgets. It is expected that the qualified applicant will have at least 3 years experience in the beer industry or at least 5 years in industrial production, display proven leadership, communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, and must be a proactive initiator able to work alone and in a team environment. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Manage the day to day operations of the Fish Brewery
a. Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
b. Represent brewery operational needs on Executive Committee
c. Oversee subtenants and their needs
2) Oversee Pub Manager, Brewmaster and Packaging Manager
a. work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals;
3) Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
a. Determine Production Schedule
b .ensuring that the production is cost effective;
c. making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality;
d. working out the human and material resources needed;
e. monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed;
f. Prepare and maintain production reports
4) Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
a. Oversee facility maintenance and needs
5) Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
a. Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.
b. Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, and statistical studies.
6) Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed
7) Supervise and motivate a team of workers
a. Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
b. Maintain personnel records
c. Institute employee suggestion or involvement programs.
8) Review plans and confer with research and support staff to develop new products and processes.
9) Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
a. Negotiate materials prices with suppliers.
b. Ensure raw materials are ordered in a timely manner

- Strong communication, coaching and interpersonal skills
-Valid driver’s license in good standing is required.
-Must have clean driving record and clear a background check
- experience in equipment maintenance, inventories and vendor relationship
